So I came across a video the other day with over a 100k views calming to teach the best longboard pushing technique. In the video the guy tells you that your heel should hit the ground first then roll the foot forward to the ball of your foot. I've always use the ball of foot to push so I was surprised to see this. In the comments the guy was defending himself and saying he's skated over 100km in one go like this. I'm curious does anyone push with this technique? How do your feet and knees feel afterwards ?I know that pushing using the ball of your feet can hurt when you first start, but in my experience your body adjusts quickly and the pain goes away.
