Does this happen to anyone else? I'll struggle a ton to put down decent lines at a practice spot and I'll be cursing myself for forgetting how to skate race wheels properly. I'll repeat the same slides again and again and slowly get better after a dozen attempts but it's still not consistent. Then I go home, think about how much my front foot was slipping, and decide to replace the grip tape in case that does anything.
Yep. That was it. First slide on the new grip is suddenly way better than anything from the last session and my confidence returns instantly. Crazy how much control you get back when your foot doesnt budge, eh?
You might not suck. You probably didnt forget everything you already know. It might actually be the gear sometimes.
