  • @Logan Neikirk Cal 7 wheels. I've only tried the ldp shapes, but they have been great for freeride. You can get 97mm wheels for as low as $35. I've been hunting around for ldp shaped wheels that are tall and skinny like seismic speed vents, but without the high price tag.

  • @Logan Neikirk For learning on a budget, id like to note ez hawgs are a very underrated option, for a first wheel.

  • Check Baifo, new spanish brand selling in europe. Amazing price to performance and several solid shapes.

LaPaulade polymers are also great if you want a fast wheel to freeride at a reasonable cost.

  • @F Llabata both brands look sick I just don't live in Europe so I don't have access to them

  • Race formula wheels are still for sale on a few websites and in my experience they have better slide characteristics than the other S9 wheels. Both the round & square lip are very freeride-able. Here they are listed at 37$ a set.

  • @BBL I like the cosmic cores ones, those cores suck. Biggest issue is s9 doesn't make them anymore, otherwise I'd have 3 sets. Great wheel I just prefer the new cosmic cores.

  • @BBL oh yeah those are sold out

  • @Logan Neikirk

S9 sells them on Amazon for 50$. There's a few place that sell them still. I think it's the best formula they ever made

no matter the core, I've never found a wheel that slides as predictable as race formula. Tho yah I can understand going for something cheaper considering its not the best DH wheels. They don't have the roll speed of the elite DH market

  • @BBL oh I love raceforms and honestly they are my favorite urethane for fast riding (besides r.a.d god I miss red advantages). I got some scrubbed mags and they were terrible in comparison, way too slidey without any feedback mid slide. I think if sector 9 released raceforms with better shapes and new better cores, they could compete with lots of modern wheels.
