Why wrongboarding.com?

  • Longboarding has been a love of mine for many years and I want to spread that stoke. A forum like this is a great way to facilitate that long term in a broader way. We have area group chats connecting communities locally, spreading the stoke that way, and they are great and serve their purpose beautifully. That said there’s many reasons for having a better additional platform a tier higher than a local chat.

The first connects directly to those local communities. From an outsider's perspective it can seem impossible to find people who skate near them, and even if they do, it can be hard to figure out who WANTS to connect with others. Our meet people to skate with section is an attempt to be a resource for people who are starting out, or are from out of town.

A secondary basis that a better overarching platform would lift the community, is that the format of every social social site has the gaping issue that to a outsider, it’s disorganized, and the knowledge we share essentially disappears because of that. The boardsports we enjoy have come so far in so many ways including the knowledge surrounding them. All of us have been lifted by those before us and facilitating a way to do so on a broader, more permanent scale will be the basis of why we want “wrongboarding.com” to exist.

Another reason I stand behind our concept, is that we know we are going to have to sell gear to keep the forum up, this means there is potential for us to turn a proffit, if that happens we will ramp up giveaways and event sponsorships (which we will have regardless of if it comes from our pockets) and give back to the comunity even more.

We thank you for joining us on the journey that skating takes us on regardless of if you feel our site provides a reason of your own to lend your time and attention to us, or not. We are connected through our love of the sport and that means a lot to me. <3

    -With love, Matt
