Ok so using some fake numbers here lets assume I'm using HPF bushings with a rebound number of "10" and I want to compare that to APS bushings with a rebound of "7" with an insert that provides "3" for rebound.
They both have the same exact rebound in this senario, which option do you think would be better for freeride, and which would be better for downhill?
The insert by far is gonna be the best. It gives it more depth.
@Matt Needs Wheels u should specify ur on aeras. i would run them without inserts and get venom hpf appropriate to ur weight. probably 85/87 and 87/90. inserts are consistent but feel terrible imo, yeah its gonna snap back the same everytime but it feels like crap, consistently crappy lol
@Chris Ramge I'm asking in general tho. If the total "snap back" is the same between the high rebound no insert, and med reboud plus insert- what is the difference/downsides of a insert bushing that y'all feel.
Also- have you tried them...... 🤨
Just switched to 90/93 HPF all around and am still getting wheelbite on small snakes (hindsight + areas=not much room) if I am not carefull, will go looser up front when I get a little bit of a split, after learning toesides a little, and some risers. Also am likely to go APS/insert, because I feel getting similar rebound, but less posible slop etc.
I honestly didn't like cal 3s untill I got the inserts divorced from the bushings, and have had a big prefference on them.
@Matt Needs Wheels what was the difference on the cals without inserts? I've got the pats risers ones, and I've been finding sometimes slides are harder to push out then I feel like they should be or have a whippy hookup out of 180's. Wondering if that feeling changes without them.
@Kurt Derow without any inserts? IDK cal 3 come with plug barrels so I only tried that and inserts.
@Matt Needs Wheels I'm gonna try it without then and see what it's like.
