My first board

  • Rolling Tree Acedia chopped to 9.25" at the widest and 8.9 at inner bolts made a different tail cuz why not. Added a 3 pound hammer (haters gonna hate) and 21" wb.
Aera P2 46/20 with wedge and chopped +14mm axles making them adjustable 134-144 with riptide krank 87 f 95 r. Might need to make it 84 up front.

    Og kevos 75mm 80a

  • @Sk8bored

get rid of the trucks and wheels & then the deck is somewhat salvageable

    Aera & Powell= 🗑️

  • Don't listen to this guy ^, his setup post was wack.

I think that your footstop should be a little more forward. With that small wheelbase and style of setup, you want to be more fully on your front bolts.

I also think that the weight is unnecessary, but some people like them.

  • For your safety, get rid of the Aeras and Powells and get some good DH gear. It's really that bad

  • Certified Powell hater in the chat

  • The peices are right but the combo is wrong, I agree with gabe that the footstop has to go forward .75 to 1.5 inches.

  • @Gabriel Fockler i tried the footstop on the top bolts but my foot ended up in front of the wheel flare. I drilled the board so where the footstop is I can push on the flare when doing slides.
Also I added the weighted to try out because the board is a bit tippy with kevos which are the wheels that I skate most often.

  • @Brian Lugbill aren't you the guy with the super wide and sym trucks on a small board? You can't hate if you skate that lmao

  • @Sk8bored that was my issue with this deck, the flairs prevented me from standing where I wanted to. I feel like small decks should not have flairs or anything like that.

I would go on and call flairs the worst feature on modern boards. They are trying to recreate drops on boards where you need to stand bolts. It's a categorical mismatch for small boards.

  • Big thing is get rid of the Powells

  • @Brian Lugbill shut up

  • @Gabriel Fockler

    powells are very Haram

halal wheels: Seismic (only DEFCON and Elixir), Venom, S9 Race Formula

  • @Brian Lugbill ehhh I like pork belly and Powell peralta too much

  • @Gabriel Fockler true. I agree 100% with what you say.
I rode a owen fox a while back and disliked how flat it was. I  understand why everyone puts a torque block, huge footstop, screws, etc. I didn't have concave to lock me in, I felt as if my feet were lost so I continuously looked down and didn't feel comfortable on it.

So I got this acedia and I'm making the most of it. I feel comfortable with the "crazy concave" and always know where my feet are. The only downside is not being able to fully stand on the front truck (until I extend the wheel wells lol).

  • Adjustable P2's are sweet!!!

  • I'm in the boat that p2s aren't great, but they surely aren't as bad as some people are making them out to be. This set up is nice! Kevos are a good move always imo, however don't let them be a dictator for how you should skate. There's Ssoooo many options for wheels out there now-adays. Newer people tend to hear about a company and their reliable gear and NEVER MOVE ON. Some of the best "newer" skaters I know make it a mission to constantly try new gear until they have a daily rider set up and a experimental.

All I'm saying is don't go with the heard on YOUR board, and don't let your set up be tainted by that same heard.

  • @Tim Cernanec word. I just happened to skate these kebos that day but was riding alphas before. I do like kevos for freeride since I just swap color depending on the pave and speed. I have ridden different wheels like bustin will royce, butterballs, urchins, free wheel co gold standard wheels (my favorite thane), hawgs supremes, I'm not going to name them all lol

I hope you understand that the title was click bait haha

  • @Sk8bored lol ya I don't spend enough time on here to know who's new or not lol. I was like, "Hell ya, this guy talked to people and got good info about gear!" Lol

  • Absolutely Haram

  • @Tim Cernanec it's cool. Are you going to Pirates DH in PR again this year?
