Been looking around at budget wide wheels. So far I've found a few sets that are under 60$ and have a contact patch of at least 60mm. Some of these I've tried some I haven't.
Remember Farley- skated these a long time ago, thought they were weird
cloudride storm chasers- skated these semi recently, felt sorta gummy and slid a lil bit poopy
Hawgs plow king- skated these and iced out first standup, slidiest wide wheel I've tried. Felt good on a narrow truck setup although
muirskate phat boyz- never tried looks enticing
blank slates- looks even more enticing probably going to try next
just curious what wheels you guys like with similar dimensions and price tag. Always look to try new brands, cheers
@Logan Neikirk Blank slates are thane dumpers fyi, the muirskate wheels are grippy asf in slide, price aside I like em for open road runs where if I know I need to shut down fast af I can, they will fight you a lot in the slide, up to you if thats positive or negative. I have some ok scrubs you can have if you pay shipping, check bst for pics.
Divine crucibles might fit the bill.
70 seems to be the standard for bigger wheels. Keep an eye out a couple months from now for some wheels a litttttle narrower than that at a lower price 👀
Additions that are 10 dollars more or I forgot to add
-blood orange 70mm Cole trotta pro, better then kevos to me and long lasting. Shape is similar to 71mm s9 raceforms
-71mm s9 raceforms. Good luck finding these online but the shape is amazing and raceforms are a classic
-pantheon meatballs, just got some to skate haven't tried yet but the shape looks great
also phat boyz are sold out
@Logan Neikirk
seismic speed vents 73mm
they last so long, they are cheaper than comparatively cheaper wheels that wear faster
@Logan Neikirk
when the wheel is too wide, it actually compromises grip rather than improving it
@Logan Neikirk Ill speak on behalf of the slates as an option. They are thaners. But they also have placed on a few podiums strictly because of the intensity of the skin. Post skin they're some of the most consistent wheels to slide on the market imo. I wouldn't sell anything I didn't like. I'm more comfortable on slates than I am on any other wheel that I've ever skated... with the exception of maybeeee rictas: storm chasers. Which are hard to find the existence of much less buy a set
@BBL I like the way wheels slide with a wide contact patch and compared to other race wheels these still aren't that wide.
@BBL I have a set of speed vents I'm going to skate again so I'll see how they are
@Marshall Cook / Blank Wheel Co I love the new options definitely getting a set of the round lips soon
I can definitely recommend the slates. super fun do it all wheel.
