@Gabriel Fockler edit nvm
Hahaha hell yeah, I appreciate it! All about the Phantom Menace! I'm working my way up to longer skates at higher paces and I'm definitely feeling it. The more I dial in, the better I feel! I'm doi...
Weights what works for you what doesn't what does it actually do? I run a 3lb weight i definitely feel a difference in terms of grounding the board. The biggest difference maker imo is pro...
Thank you for the post. I've been skating for 3-4 years now and I've never understood rake, until I got cal 3s from a complete. @joe the sabre website resource you posted is also absolutely goated
@Zach Maxon damn this was super and incredibly insightful and helpful. Thanks! Something tells me you're gonna be a powerhouse in the LDP scene soon, if u aren't alr (I know you started ldp rather ...
Just curious, anyone know how the Remember Optimos compare? They're the only wheel you can get off the Remember site right now, and if I'm getting into freeride I'm prolly getting those. There aren...
@Justin Chang anytime! I think it all comes down to personal preference, for sure, but I've been using double barrel (or larger bushings) in pretty much every setup I've ever used, except for park ...
@Zach Maxon Thanks Zach! This was still super helpful even if you weren't a dancer/freestyler. I think I might experiment with harder bushings, since the double barrels alr give more rebound...
I tried riding drifts flipped and they felt real nice, pretty hard to not slide out of cornering or turning a big slide into a 180 accidentally tho. Would recommend for a slide jam.
@John Oliver hi John-O!
@Gabriel Fockler lollll when I asked I was surprised to hear that I was the second. Guess I found it who was the first xd. I feel your pain brother, but it's all good. Good luck with the giveaway!
Not into freestyle or dance, but I can weigh in a bit on bushings! Double barrel is definitely going to have more rebound, and it'll want to return to center sooner than a barrel-cone setup will. T...
@socialpush.dc (weekly push ride), @dclongboarding (monthly meetup)
@Josh Gaudon I could take down a set of blank wheels in a day. Snakes last much longer than any other freeride wheel from another brand. It's the price divided by durability that you need to consid...
I went through every mod post, couldn't find it lol
@Josh Gaudon rip snakes being the budget cheat wheel
I don't feel like there's much dancers/freestylers here lol but anyways: Does bushings matter for freestyle? Would they help with the energy transfer with popping and other tricks? I know for dan...
@David Serate that's actually what I meant, haha, what the rake for each truck was. I have no idea why I used the phrasing that I did. That's super helpful, thank you!
They gave me a t-shirt so it's all good lmao thanks wrongboarding mods sorry for bitching again
Chop it on both lines for extra sharp front end c:
I have red drifts & you definitely don't have to kick them out too much. They were one of my first few wheels I was really focused on sliding. Compared to square lips like green krimes, (or rea...
@Zach Maxon I don't think there's a standard for all casts. I know Paris v3s have 2mm (or 4.3 mm?), and the new Cal 3 raked trucks have 5 mm (maybe 3 mm?) Bear Gen 6 Grizzlies have 4 mm of rake.&nb...
@David Serate Sabre Trucks website has an amazing graphical aid that would fully support your thread. I will ink it below: https://sabretrucks.com/technology/longboard-truck-geometry-guide/
I was just about to look into this! Thank you for posting it, it's definitely helpful. Is there any sort of guide out there that shows the standard rake for all cast trucks? I feel like that would ...
I don't think there's necessarily an intro guide that's well compiled - I think you're on the mark with Paved Wave and Blue Ridge Project being the best sources of info, but that info can be a bit ...
